Back to NetTake

Windows 0.2.1 · Microsoft Store

Keep accurate time without living in a browser.

NetTake runs quietly in the Windows notification area. Switch projects, pause, add missed time, and keep working even when the network is unavailable.

Free access · no payment method required

Step 1

Set up on the web

Create or sign in to your account, then add your compensation assumptions and project aliases.

Open setup →
Step 2

Install NetTake

Get the free Windows app from Microsoft Store and open it from the notification area.

Step 3

Connect the same account

The app opens a secure browser approval once. Your timer and projects then stay in sync.

Windows companion

Accurate short sessions, web-to-desktop synchronization, automatic retry after network outages, and an in-app review screen for time that needs attention.

Local first

Timer actions are saved on the computer before any network request.

Cloud backup

Completed entries back up after the account is connected and retry automatically.

Fast project switching

Switch instantly with one click or keys 1–8; cloud backup continues in the background.

Optional Claude connection

NetTake includes a local, read-only MCP connector. In the tray menu, open App preferences, choose Copy Claude MCP setup, paste it into Claude Desktop's MCP configuration, and restart Claude. It exposes aliases and planning summaries—not raw notes, uploaded files, tax settings, or timer controls. Use it only if your workplace permits custom connectors.

Store availability and work computers

Microsoft may take some time to show a new listing after publication starts. If the Store page is unavailable, try again later. A managed work computer may still require your IT team's approval before installation.

You can use the web tracker while Store availability or desktop approval is pending. The web tracker needs a connection to confirm saves; the desktop app stores time locally while offline.
